Abstract

Vanillylmandelic Acid can be determined in urine by Dual Wavelength ultraviolet spectroscopy^1,2. Para-hydroxymandelic acid is an interference. The procedure has been modified to use the Generalized Standard Addition Method to determine Vanillylmandelic Acid in urine. A random urine sample yielded a normal value of 2.5 mg/day.
