Abstract

Cigarette smoking may be a substantial source of intake of some hazardous elements to the human health. In this work calibration-free laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy technique was employed to investigate the trace metallic elements (Fe, Ca, Al, Cu, K, Li, Mg, Mn, Na, Sr, Ti, and Zn) concentration in tobacco and tobacco ash. Moreover, variation of metallic elements mass concentration between tobacco and tobacco ash has been observed.
