ABSTRACT

A study on the characterization of kinetics of the particle growth of electrically charged silver nanoparticles at concentrations between 25 and 50 µmol/L was performed. Analysis and time-dependent fitting of the diameters of the silver colloidal agglomerates was characterized using atomic force microscopy and optical techniques. The kinetics of growth, maximum diameter, and the initial nuclear diameter were evaluated for the nanoparticles. The toxicity of silver agglomerates with diameters 400–500 nm on fish embryos was characterized.
