Abstract
Derivatized β-cyclodextrin was used as a mobile phase additive for the liquid chromatographic resolution of amino acid derivative enantiomers with an achiral C18 stationary phase. The separation and retention obtained with methyl-β-cyclodextrin was compared with that of the unmodified β-cyclodextrin at different mobile phase compositions. The effects of cyclodextrin concentration, pH, and methanol and buffer concentration on enantioselectivity and capacity factor were examined.
