Abstract
This paper presents the hydrodynamical stability of three-dimensional geophysical edge waves in the presence of an underlying longshore current. By implementing the short-wavelength perturbation approach, we show that the equatorial edge waves are linear unstable when the wave steepness exceeds a specific threshold.
