This special issue is the collection of recently results on inverse problems and regularization theory based on the “International Workshop on Inverse Problems and Regularization Theory” held in Shanghai, 26–29 September 2013. This workshop is also dedicated to Prof. Bernd Hofmann’s 60th birthday. The webpage for the workshop is http://math.fudan.edu.cn/science/Conference/IP2013/index.htm.
There were about 12 invited speakers from US, Germany, Austria, Japan, Finland and China. All of them are famous experts in the fields of Inverse Problems and Regularization theory. The following recent theoretical and numerical approaches are focuses of investigation: Conditional stability, Ill-posed problems, Regularization schemes, Numerical Methods. The invited speakers submitted their papers to this special issue. After the normal review process, we accept these ten papers in this special issue.
