Quasi-periodic solutions for a class of wave equation system

Abstract

In this paper, we establish an abstract infinite dimensional KAM theorem. As an application, we use the theorem to study the 1D wave equation system {u1ttu1xx+σu1+u1u22=0u2ttu2xx+μu2+u12u2=0under Dirichlet boundary conditions, where 0<σ[σ1,σ2][0,1], 0<μ[μ1,μ2][0,1] are real parameters. By establishing a block-diagonal normal form, we obtain the existence of a Whitney smooth family of small amplitude quasi-periodic solutions corresponding to finite dimensional invariant tori of an associated infinite dimensional dynamic system.
