1 Sloyd is a Swedish word meaning crafts or handicrafts. It was invented by a Finn named Uno Cygnaeus in 1865.

2 For example, The Scrap Exchange in Durham, North Carolina, recycles industrial remnants for art projects, and we see their vendors at the state art education conference every year.
