A lot of people have helped me grasp Neil's life more fully and provided useful insights as I have tried to squeeze such a large life and intellect into such a small and flat space as this obituary, especially Deb Cowen, Cindi Katz, Susan Millar, Lynn Staeheli, Ruthie Gilmore, David Harvey, Nik Heynen, and Tom Slater.
