Professional Forestry and Land Management

Pages 65-71 | Published online: 15 Apr 2013

SUMMARY

Changes in society's demands from forests require professional foresters to continually identify, adapt to, and initiate changes in land management. The professional Institute, universities and employers can all aid in meeting this requirement but foresters must recognize and develop the skills peculiar to their profession and seek outside help from other professionals. A possible means by which foresters can consolidate their knowledge and develop their professional potential is discussed.
