Authors James Wilkes and Joseph Cazier are partners in the company that owns Hive Tracks, the apiary management software which provided the data for this project. One of the on-going goals of Hive Tracks is to conduct analytics and research to benefit the beekeeping sector and to provide opportunities for citizen scientists to contribute to the global beekeeping effort. Additionally, all the Hive Tracks data has been anonymized and aggregated to hide information that could pinpoint one specific beekeeper. This is in line with the Hive Tracks Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policies for users of the software.
