ABSTRACT

A gas-chromatographic (GLC) procedure utilizing an internal standard is described for the quantitation of barbiturates in blood.

Employing thirteen different specimens of post-mortem blood containing either phenobarbital alone or at least two different barbiturates, the GLC quantitative results are compared to those obtained by the modified UV differential method.
