Karyotype Analysis in Triticum: VI — Analysis of Taxa Attributable to the T. Timopheevi Complex

SUMMARY

The chromosome morphology of 4 lines of tetraploid wheat was studied. No great differences were observed between the karyotypes of T. araraticum and T. timopheevi on one hand and T. dicoccoides var. nudiglumis and an accession collected in Turkey and attributed to T. dicoccoides on the other. Therefore, these two last lines can be considered to belong to the Triticum araraticum — timopheevi complex. Consequently, this complex occupies a distribution area much broader than previously thought.
