When the article was first published online, the number was incorrect in the sentence “Based on this, the eldest pupils within a year group have about 50% (0.04*12) lower grammar school opportunities than do the youngest ones” (p.15).
This has now been corrected in both online and print versions to “Based on this, the eldest pupils within a year group have about 40% lower grammar school opportunities than do the youngest ones”.
The author apologises for this error.
