Relations between relaxor behavior and cationic substitutions in lead-free BaTiO3 derived ceramics

Abstract

Relaxor lead-free BaTiO3 derived ceramics were prepared and characterised by various physical studies. The relaxor characteristics depend on the substitution rate and on the type of ionic substitution: they are favoured by a stronger composition deviation from BaTiO3 and by heterovalent substitutions in the octahedral crystallographic site of the perovskite.
