Elastic Properties of Disordered Lead Scandotantalate Crystal

Abstract

Results of studies of elastic properties of relaxor ferroelectric lead scandotantalate crystal in the vicinity of a diffuse phase transition are presented. Brillouin scatttering from longitudinal and transverse acoustic phonons was investigated. Analaysis of data yielded elastic C₁₁, C₁₂, and C₄₄ moduli for the cubic phase of the crystal in a wide temperature range.
