Polymeric and Hybrid Materials for Electrooptical Devices: Polar Order Dynamics

Pages 3-11 | Received 05 Sep 2006, Accepted 20 Sep 2006, Published online: 01 Jun 2007

Abstract

The present contribution reviews some aspect of the exploitation of polymeric and hybrid solgel materials for optoelectronic devices. In particular a procedure addressed to experimentally investigate the order stability of systems containing NLO dipolar molecules will be discussed. A figure of merit, allowing the comparison among candidate systems for devices, is recognized in the RT d 33 decay time value. Its relation with glass transition temperature of a series of similar polymeric systems is reported. Moreover, a hybrid solgel system containing electro-optic active molecules is shown.
