Abstract
The kinetics of ferroelectric domains in single crystals of lithium niobate family is reviewed. The features of the nano-scale domain kinetics obtained during highly-nonequilibrium switching conditions are discussed systematically. The main ways to achieve the adequate experimental conditions are presented. Several manifestations of abnormal micro-scale domain kinetics caused by preexistence of nano-domains are shown. Much attention is paid to effects of correlated nucleation caused by electrostatic interaction between isolated nano-scale domains.
