Abstract

A high-frequency underwater transducer had been designed and prepared with twenty bars of the piezoelectric ceramic (PZT-5). The valley mode of the transducer and the size of piezoelectric ceramic bar are obtained by ANSYS. The in-air operating frequency of the transducer is 208 KHz. The error of the results of the real transducer and the simulation is 2.3%. The operating frequency of transducer was 225 kHz. The maximum transmitting voltage response of the transducer, obtained in the test was 156dB. The directivity pattern was nearly omnidirectional in horizontal direction and with beam width was 20° at −10dB in vertical direction.
