Abstract

This paper describes the opto-thermal response of a ceramic-controlled piezoelectric (CCP) made of PLZT implanted with a Platinum wire. The opto-thermal response of this CCP was made by measuring the electrical signal in a bidimensional setup under four different temperatures: 20°C, 35°C, 50°C and 75°C, and a 550 nm Laser was used in order to produce the optic energy which is detected by the CCP. Measurements showed that, in the explored thermal range, the CCP signal magnitude increased from 87.2 pA to 147.2 pA. The opto-thermal properties observed are promising for possible applications in temperature-controlled.
