Abstract
The possibility to synthesize SbSBr and SbSI1-xBrx in a dilute hydrochloric acid solution was shown. Conversely to the SbSI, synthesis of SbSBr and SbSI1-xBrx in this solution requires an excess of bromide-anions, higher temperature and prolonged duration of chemical reaction. The final products were characterized by X-ray diffraction, X-ray fluorescence, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy and iodometric titration measurements. The real content of bromide in the resulting SbSI1-xBrx phases is less than the bromide amount calculated according to the reaction equation due to the lower π-acceptor properties of bromide as compared with iodide.
