These Proceedings contain a collection of papers based on the invited, oral, and poster presentations at the XXII All-Russian Conference on Ferroelectrics (VKS-XXII) held in Ekaterinburg, Russia, August 25–28, 2021.
VKS-XXII covered a wide range of scientific topics:
Phase transitions and critical phenomena;
Theoretical calculations of ferroelectric properties;
Structure and dynamics of the crystal lattice;
Physical properties of ferroelectrics (single crystals, ceramics, composites, liquid crystals, new materials);
Relaxor ferroelectrics;
Multiferroic materials;
Domain structure and polarization reversal processes;
Ferroelectric films, superlattices, and nanostructures. Size effects in ferroelectrics;
Spectroscopic studies of ferroelectrics;
Applications of ferroelectrics and related materials.
The conference was organized by the School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics and the Ural Center for Shared Use “Modern Nanotechnology” of the Ural Federal University.
The objective of VKS-XXII was to provide an interdisciplinary exchange of information on a wide range of topics related to the fundamentals and applications of ferroelectric materials to ensure effective cooperation among scientists and students from universities and research institutions.
More than 200 scientists from 19 cities of Russia and six countries: Belarus, Canada, Czech Republic, Germany, Israel, and Portugal, presented their results. The conference comprised 25 invited, 40 oral, 25 short oral, and 128 poster presentations.
Due to the pandemic situation, the conference was held in a hybrid mode. Though it lacked some live communications, it became possible to attract many students and several foreign participants who would not come in person for various reasons.
