Abstract
The dielectric and structural properties of the phase transition in silver tantalate AgTaO3 are compared with Raman spectroscopy results performed in the temperature range from 10 to 800K. The nature of the Raman bands and their temperature dependence are analyzed with regard to the transition sequence. In particular, the clear appearance at 120K on cooling and 170K on heating of several additional lines indicates, occurrence of a supplementary structural phase transition.
