Abstract

Ferroelectric crystals of guanidinium aluminum sulfate hexahydrate were grown in gel mediums. Tapered pin type crystals with hexagonal cross section were obtained. Ferroelectric domain structures on cleaved surfaces perpendicular to the spontaneous polarization were examined by scanning electron microscopy and a powder deposition technique. Sectors corresponding to crystal growth pyramids were observed in the domain structures.
