Abstract
The switching process in (NH3CH3)5Bi2Br11 single crystals was investigated using nematic liquid crystal decoration technique. Polarization reversal measurements were carried out in the dc electric fields up to 1200 V/cm and within the temperature range from 296 to 308 K. It was found that the time of total switching τS obeys the following exponential law: 1/τs=1/σexp (−α/E). Two, or three linear parts on the In(l/τ) vs. 1/E plots with various activation fields were observed. Visualization of the switching process along the direction of spontaneous polarization is presented.
