Charge transport in perovskite-type titanates: Space charge effects in ceramics and films

Abstract

The role of space charge regions at grain boundaries and surfaces of acceptor-doped strontium titanate model materials is discussed and their effect on the defect chemistry, the charge transport processes, and the resistance degradation process is outlined. The behaviour of conventional ceramics and ceramic thin films is compared.
