Abstract

The zero-field splittings b⁰ ₂ for Mn²⁺ ion in CsPbCl₃ and CsSrCl₃ crystals in the cubic-tetragonal phase transition have been calculated from a simple and uniform formula related to the spin-lattice coupling coefficient G₁₁ in cubic phase. The calculated results show reasonable agreement with the experimental findings.
