Abstract
The dependence of the coercive field on two-dimensional compressive stress is calculated for PbTiO3 films based on the Landau phenomenological theory. For 100% coriented films, the coercive field increases proportionally with increasing the stress. For ceramic films with randomly oriented grains, the loops are generally tilted; the coercive field increases with increasing the stress but the relation deviates from a liner one.
