Abstract
A series resonance circuit with ferroelectric TGS-capacitor is a practical realization of a nonlinear dynamical system. Depending on external parameters (e.g., amplitude and frequency of the driving voltage or temperature of the ferroelectric material) it is possible to observe period doubling and symmetry breaking bifurcations or chaotic behavior. It can be shown theoretically that near such instabilities a dynamical system can act to amplify small signals of suitably chosen frequencies. This effect has been investigated experimentally in the series resonance circuit near period doubling and symmetry breaking bifurcations. The experimental results are in good agreement with theoretical predictions.
