Abstract
Results of the study of phase transitions caused by the action of electric field are presented for systems where FE and AFE states are realized. For the objects which undergo AFE FE transition it is shown that the emergence of intermediate state of coexisting FE and AFE phase domains is possible within a certain interval of electric field intensity. The intermediate state in ferro and antiferroelectrics is found to essentially differ in nature from that in magnetics and superconductors. The properties of a such state in FE and AFE are revealed. The predicted phenomena are shown to be observed in experiment for PZT based solid solutions.
