Influence of dopant structure on material properties in induced smectic C* phases

Abstract

Molecular structure influence of chiral dopants on physical properties in induced SmC* phases has been studied. Two chiral esters have been chosen as chiral guest molecules to induce a smectic C* phase in two host mixtures. The tilt angle reduced polarization dependences of the system on temperature and mole fraction have been determined.
