Abstract
A new addressing technique for driving Surface-Stabilized Ferroelectric Liquid Crystal (SSFLC) displays by selecting two rows at a time is proposed. It combines the ideas from fast addressing modes of SSFLC with multiline selection of rms responding devices. While fast addressing schemes need just a fraction of response time to drive a display line, the frame refresh rate can be further doubled by simultaneous addressing of two rows. The technique has been verified experimentally and the results are presented.
