Dada Zurich 1916 and the Geopolitics of the Local

Pages 417-420 | Published online: 02 Nov 2016

Abstract

This article looks at the Dadaists' disinterest in the cultural and political particularity of Zurich as the place in and from which they operated. Turning a blind eye to the specificity of their geopolitical situation suggests a performative disconnect that raises questions about the Dadaists' social and political commitments.
