Some results are presented which indicate the rates of growth of various intermetallic compounds formed when tin and tin-lead alloys plated onto hard and soft copper, brass and silver are stored at temperatures between 70 and 170°C. The form of the growth curves is described and some effects of coating alloy composition are briefly mentioned.
