Abstract
Previously successfid general-relaxation training and specific task training procedures for increasing hypnotic susceptibility were modified in order to allow group administration. Both procedures significantly increased posttraining hypnotic susceptibility scores on the Stanford Hypnotic Suceptibility scale Form A and on the Stanford Hypnotic Susceptibility Scale, Form C (Weitzenhoffer & Hilgard, 1959,1962). Comparison between the training procedures indicated superiority for the specific training on Form A scores and no significant difference on Form C scores.
