Minimization of a quadratic cost functional for a class of single-input bilinear control systems

Abstract

Optimal feedback control of bilinear systems is considered. A quadratic-cost minimization problem, with constrained scalar bilinear control, is formulaled and solved explicitly for a class of second-order systems. The method is based on the use of sufficient conditions for optimality of the Stalford type (Stalford 1971).
