ABSTRACT

This research paper presents an Interleaved High-Gain Modified SEPIC (IHGM-SEPIC) power converter for use in PV-based microgrids. The converter operates in continuous conduction mode, achieving high efficiency and reducing switching stress. This paper explores the application of the converter in the microgrid, using an incremental conductance algorithm to calculate maximum power from the solar PV array. The power management algorithm is based on feed-forward control. This paper demonstrates the converter’s high performance, achieving a maximum efficiency of 98.87% and exhibiting excellent transient performance under line and load regulation. A robust experimental setup confirms the mathematical computations. The proposed converter is suitable for renewable applications and contributes to the advancement of renewable energy technology.
