Evaluation of the resonant frequencies and bandwidth in microstrip antennas with a chiral grounded slab

Pages 671-676 | Published online: 10 Nov 2010

Abstract

It is well known and documented that microstrip antennas exhibit many advantages for conformal antenna applications that can be improved either by changing the type of substrate bi-isotropic, bi-anisotropic or by using multilayered structures. The electromagnetic behaviour of a metallic microstrip patch antenna on a grounded chiral slab is studied. Numerical results based on a new efficient moment method MM solution of the resonant frequency and the bandwidth for different antenna configurations are given.
