Event-triggered tracking control for multi-agent systems with measurement noises

ABSTRACT

This paper considers the mean-square leader-following consensus problem for heterogeneous multi-agent systems (MASs) affected by noises. Because only the output signal of a leader can be measured, a distributed dynamic control driven by an event-triggered mechanism (ETM) is proposed. The proposed ETM can reduce the signal transmission amount from sampler to controller. Using the tine-delay model method, the system under the proposed controller can be modelled as a stochastic time-delay system. Then the time-varying Hanaly inequality is utilised to obtain sufficient conditions that guarantee the consensus of MASs. Further, the quantity-based event-triggered mechanism is proposed to reduce the amount of traffic. Finally, an example is given to illustrate the validity of the obtained results.

Mali Xing was born in 1990. She received the PhD degree in systems engineering from the South China University of Technology, Guangzhou, in 2017. She was an Honorary Visiting Scholar with the Department of Mechanical and Automation Engineering, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong, from January 2019 to July 2019. She is currently a Lecturer with the Guangdong University of Technology. Her current research interests include multi-agent systems and stochastic systems.

Feiqi Deng

Feiqi Deng was born in 1962. He received the PhD degree in control theory and control engineering from the South China University of Technology, Guangzhou, in 1997. Since 1999, he has been a Professor with the South China University of Technology, where he has also been the Director of the Systems Engineering Institute. He is currently a Director of the Subcommittee on Stochastic Systems Control of Technical Committee on Control Theory (TCCT). His main research interests include stability and control theory of complex systems, including time-delay systems, nonlinear systems, and stochastic systems.

Panshuo Li

Panshuo Li received the BS degree in mechanical engineering from Donghua University, Shanghai, China, in 2009, the MS degree from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai, in 2012, and the PhD degree in mechanical engineering from The University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong, in 2016. Since 2016, she has been an Associate Professor with the School of Automation, Guangdong University of Technology, Guangzhou, China. Her current research interests include switched systems, periodic systems, intelligent vehicle control, and vibration control.

Hao Yin

Hao Yin was born in 1972. She received MS degree in Hydroelectric Power from North China University of Water Resources and Electric Power, Zhengzhou, 1999. Since 2009, she has been an Associate Professor with the School of Automation, Guangdong University of Technology, Guangzhou, China. Her current research interests include power system operation and control, fault detection of electrical equipment.

Muqing Deng

Muqing Deng received the BE and PhD degrees from the College of Automation, South China University of Technology, Guangzhou, China, in 2012 and 2017, respectively. He has been an Honorary Visiting Scholar with the Department of Mechanical and Automation Engineering, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong from 2018 to 2019. Since 2020, he has been a Lecturer with the school of automationg, Guangdong University of Technology, Guangzhou, China. His current research interests include dynamical pattern recognition, deterministic learning theory, patternbased intelligent control.
