Gert J. van den Brink is a principal professional officer in the Department of Research and Development at the Dutch National Institute for Curriculum Development (slo), po Box 2041, 7500 CA Enschede, The Netherlands. He contributed to the Dutch subject‐specific committees’ proposal for nation‐wide attainment targets and monitored the work of several of these committees.
