Abstract
Upon the basis of sociometric ratings made by 110 seniors, 22 lenders and 22 nonleaders were selected for freshmen-test-score comparison. The leaders as freshmen scored significantly higher than did the non lenders on five of the Class 1 traits of the California Psychological Inventory. Dominance and self-acceptance were significant at the .001 level, sociability at the .01 level, while capacity for status and social presence showed significance at the .05 level. Using tests of ability, It was found that the verbal score of the College Entrance Examination Board Scholastic Aptitude Test was significantly higher at the .05 level for leaders than for the nonleaders.
