Shannon K. Gilmartin
Shannon K. Gilmartin is a Senior Education Researcher at the California Institute of Technology. Her work explores how contemporary college women and men experience romance and friendship against the backdrop of their academic goals, campus peer cultures, and historically salient gender roles; how secondary students position themselves in relation to science and engineering; variations in the early stages of the science and engineering pipeline by gender, race/ethnicity, and socioeconomic background; and the applications and limitations of mixed-methods research in studies of education-related issues.
