Matthew M. Mars
Matthew M. Mars is the Entrepreneurship and Knowledge Transfer Specialist in the McGuire Center for Entrepreneurship and the Office of Technology Transfer at the University of Arizona. His research focuses on the entrepreneurial dimensions of colleges and universities with particular emphasis on the entrepreneurial behaviors and activities of students. Sheila Slaughter is the Louise McBee Professor of Higher Education at the University of Georgia. Her work focuses on the relations between knowledge and power in higher education. Her books are Academic Capitalism: Politics, Policies and the Entrepreneurial University (with Larry Leslie, Johns Hopkins University Press, 1997) and Academic Capitalism and the New Economy (with Gary Rhoades, Johns Hopkins University Press, 2004). Gary Rhoades is Professor and Director of the University of Arizona's Center for the Study of Higher Education. His work focuses on the restructuring of academic labor and of academic institutions. His books are Managed Professionals (SUNY, 1998) and Academic Capitalism and the New Economy (with Sheila Slaughter, Johns Hopkins University Press, 2004).
