ABSTRACT
A significant part of the species described by Brazilian researchers do not have a known type, either because it has not been assigned or because it has been lost. The holotype of Pycnogonum gibberum was discovered in the Arachnid section of the Zoology Museum of the University of São Paulo and is re-described in this work. Its re-description allows for a more precise comparison with other species of the genus, especially Pycnogonum elephas.
