The Heterococcus-group of mealybugs is discussed; a key to its constituent genera and a check-list of species are provided. Two new combinations are proposed. Adults of both sexes and immature stages of Paramococcus venezuelanus n. gen. and n. sp. from the desert paramo in Venezuela are described and illustrated.
