, &
Pages 241-247 | Received 28 Apr 1981, Published online: 02 Jul 2010

Summary

Fifteen potential generalizations were extracted from published findings on 1972 survey data on attitudes and attributions to candidates. Data from 1976 were used to test the generalizability of these findings. Nine of the 15 earlier findings on assimilation and contrast effects were either completely or partially replicated.
