&
Pages 130-140 | Published online: 22 Feb 2018

Abstract

A skip-lot sampling program is described consisting of three states:

(1)

lot-by-lot inspection

(2)

skip-lot inspection

(3)

skip-lot interruption.

The proposed switching rules are based on controlling three characteristics:

(1)

the number of lots inspected during the lot-by-lot state until qualification

(2)

the number of lots inspected during the skip-lot state until detection of a change in quality

(3)

the probability of resuming skip-lot inspection from the interruption state.

The program has been submitted as a proposed ANSI standard to the ASQC Statistical Standards Committee and currently is in the Draft 2 stage of acceptance.
