Some Useful Notes on Simple Random Sampling

Abstract

Some useful results about simple random samples are given which are not generally known or are often assumed to be true but with some uncertainty by the experimenter. Such results, when called to the attention of users of sampling techniques, should lead to a better understanding of many of the results that are built on the concept of a simple random sample.
