12 F[itzmaurice], Answer, 506–7. R. M. F. may be Vice-Admiral Raymond Fitmaurice who was a regular attendee of the SNR AGMs at this time. Born in 1878 into a distinguished naval family, Fitz-Maurice had a distinguished naval career himself before retiring from the active list in 1929. On the outbreak of the Second World War Fitz-Maurice was recalled to active service, knighted in 1942 and died of angina the following year.
