Abstract
Effective spherical interaction potentials for and
are calculated from experimental gaseous ion mobility data by using the direct inversion method. The potentials obtained are used to obtain best-fit parameters of the Morse-Morse-Spline-Van der Waals (MMSV) potential model. The MMSV potentials were then employed to compute the mobility of
ion in argon and krypton gases at 300 K. Results show that the MMSV potentials reproduce the experimental ion mobilities within their experimental accuracy.
